Free Leisure sessions - Blackburn with Darwen Leisure

Access a programme of free leisure sessions across the borough. This will start with the inclusion of a variety of activities, including gym-based, swimming and cycling sessions.

Passport to Leisure - Blackburn with Darwen Leisure

Passport to Leisure is a discount card scheme, which enables qualifying people to enjoy fantastic discounts on leisure activities provided by BwD Leisure. The scheme is completely free to join and It is open to residents of Blackburn with Darwen only.

Witton Greenhouse Project

A programme that supports people to grow their own food, learn more about the natural world and enjoy the outdoors.

The Re:fresh team are dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of the people living and working in the Blackburn with Darwen borough.

Blokes United Creative Football

These football sessions are intended for individuals who may be feeling socially isolated and unable to access mainstream football, but also to those who work and cannot access the day-time sessions.

Healthy Homes

There is a lot you can do to make your home a better place in which to live, particularly when your needs may have changed. Through the Healthy Homes project, Care Network now offers expert knowledge, advice and support to help you to achieve a warm, safe, hazard free and energy efficient home.

Motivate

The Motivate team has a weekly timetable of activity sessions for adults with a learning difficulty or disability. Their sessions aim to help people lead an active lifestyle and improve their health and well-being. These include archery, cycling, dancing, football, gym, gardening, swimming, team games and walking.

Blackpool leisure cards

The Blackpool leisure card entitles holders up to 20% off sport and leisure activities within Sport Blackpool facilities and other benefits, including discounts for selected performances at the Grand Theatre.

FIT Blackpool

Fit Blackpool is a 12-week weight management programme for all genders, includes theory and practical sessions which helps you sustain weight loss and lead a healthier life.

Feel Good Factories

The Feel Good Factories are located at Palatine and Moor Park Health and Leisure centres and offer a range of power assisted equipment to help you exercise and tone up in a relaxed and sociable setting at an affordable price per month.

Water sports

The water sports programme offers a flexible way to learn and develop through encouragement, progression and knowledge in a fun, relaxed and safe environment, using kayaks, canoes and raft building activities. They aim to provide young people opportunities to experience exciting and simulating water based activities within their local community.

The Streetlife Trust

The Streetlife Trust are a youth work charity who assist vulnerable young people in the Blackpool area. Their aim is to enable and empower them to make informed choices, about issues affecting their lives.

Blackpool Advocacy Hub

Motivate 2 is a volunteer advocacy project that empowers people with personal experience of mental health and/or complex needs and gives them the opportunity to use their knowledge to advocate for other people accessing the service.

Active Through Football (ATF) - Blackpool FC Community Trust

ATF will give adults an opportunity to take part in football, and reap the many rewards that it offers. There is something for everyone to get involved with, whether your goals are to become active, meet people, start a hobby or even learn new skills, support will be given each step of the way.

Traineeships - Blackpool FC Community Trust

This traineeship programme is to support young people 16 – 24 years of age, who are not in education, employment or training. It supports young people over a 12 week period to give them work experience along with additional qualifications to make them more employable.

Walk & Talk - Blackpool FC Community Trust

Walk and Talk hold walks around Stanley Park each week to allow local people to come together for a moderate walk and a chat. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and enjoy some light exercise for free.

Every Player Counts - Blackpool FC Community Trust

Every Player Counts Free run sessions every week using football to support those living with disabilities, promoting positive mental health and creating peer groups through physical activity.

Pool Together - Blackpool FC Community Trust

This project aims to support social inclusion and combat isolation, utilising four methods of support: phone calls, postal support, garden gate visits and online social groups.

Active Adults

The Active Adults sessions include table tennis, badminton, bowling, gym and swimming – all aimed at people aged 50 and above.

Active Streets

This project aims to work alongside partner agencies in tackling anti-social behaviour within the hardest to reach communities to provide mentoring, training and volunteering opportunities within sport. Furthermore, delivering the ‘Fit n Fed’ holiday activity programmes. It particularly targets young people to help increase their skills and confidence.

Rounders

Mixed rounders sessions for all ages and abilities every Wednesday.

Offshoots

Offshoots Community garden is a large, walled garden in Towneley Park. Volunteers help look after the site, develop skills, learn about gardening and enjoy spending time in the outdoors. It’s a great place to meet new people, take some time out from busy lives and help improve the garden for the local community.

Nattershack Coffee Morning

Weekly coffee morning meet-ups, providing an opportunity to sit with a coffee, relax and chat in a safe and welcoming environment.

Ground UP Craft Group

Ground UP is a community led arts group. They hold regular craft and making sessions at Burnley Mechanics and are passionate about developing opportunities for people to be creative and actively involved in the cultural life of the town, contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing.

Super Slow Way

The Super Slow Way is a cultural development programme that covers 20 miles of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal corridor. It develops social spaces where people can express their own cultural identities and celebrate their own everyday creativity.

Men's Den @ Open Door

A group that supports men with mental health, addiction or any other issue causing anxiety and stress.

This service offers advice and motivation in relation to diet and behaviour change, promoting increased physical activity.

Walking Football - Preston North End

Walking Football is a slow-paced version of the beautiful game aimed at the over 50s; the sport is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle despite their age, as well as getting those back playing football who have had to stop due to injuries.

Fit Fans

Fit Fans is a free health programme for men and women aged 35-65 who are looking to lose weight, get fitter and lead a more active life.

Walk And Talk For Lilywhites - Preston North End

Preston North End Community and Education Trust runs a weekly walking group for men and women of all ages. It encourages people to combine the benefits of face-to-face social interaction and physical exercise by walking around Moor Park alongside like-minded people.

Andy's Man Club

Andy's Man Club is a group that encourages all men to talk and is open to any man over the age of 18. The aim of the group is simply to get men talking in a welcoming, friendly setting.

Guild Lodge Partnership - Preston North End

As well as football sessions, Preston North End Community and Education Trust also run multi-skills sessions to slowly introduces physical activity to daily life.
