We’re seeking a passionate and driven Senior Netball Development Coach to play a key role in shaping the future of our Netball Academy!

The Role

The Senior Netball Development Coach (SNDC) supports the Sports Development Manager with developing and delivering all aspects of the Netball Academy delivered in partnership with Nelson & Colne College and Accrington and Rossendale College.

The SNDC is also responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of our community-based Netball provision and sports participation within Burnley and the surrounding areas.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate netball sessions to ensure high standards and customer service is maintained.
  • To lead the delivery of community netball programmes including Back 2 Netball, Walking Netball, Netball Development Centre’s and Bella Bee Netball.
  • To support the coordination of staffing and delivery of netball sessions and other sports development sessions (when required), whilst ensuring all sessions are financially viable and sustainable.
  • Support the marketing and promotion of netball programmes and other sports development programmes (when required), including distribution of flyers and attending open evenings.
  • To undertake appropriate administrative duties in relation to the netball development initiatives, to ensure the smooth running of the projects e.g., maintain accurate attendance registers, organising fixtures, transport and dealing with petty cash, etc.
  • To deliver both netball coaching sessions and support classroom-based education workshops when required.
  • To explore growth opportunities with the Sports Development Manager for netball provision related to the project area.
  • To liaise with colleagues and key partners to proactively promote netball projects to new and existing participants within Burnley and surrounding areas.
  • To provide exit routes, including coaching or playing opportunities for graduating netball Academy players/students.
  • Monitoring and evaluating netball development projects and the impact of delivery, logging key data on salesforce.
  • To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
  • To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • Level 2 Netball or equivalent coaching qualification.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Safeguarding.
  • Emergency Aid.
  • Experience in delivering safe, structured and enjoyable netball sessions in schools, clubs and the local community.
  • Understanding the needs of target groups including women & girls, minority ethnic communities, people with disabilities and people from disadvantaged backgrounds and areas of deprivation.
  • Time management skills to be able to plan and regulate workload including the ability to prioritise demands and thrive under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent IT skills, including intermediate abilities in all MS Office programmes.
