CGL Project Lead – North Lancashire

Charlotte Wilkinson

I coordinate Active Recovery across North Lancashire, helping individuals improve their physical and mental wellbeing through sport and activity. Together with local recovery organisations, the goal is to create inclusive opportunities that support recovery, encourage social connection, and help people feel safe, valued, and part of their community.

Why I Do What I Do

Recovery is built on connection, hope, and purpose. I do what I do because I want people to see that life in recovery can be fulfilling, meaningful, and full of opportunity. I am passionate about the power of sport and physical activity to transform lives, improving both physical and mental wellbeing while helping people build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging

My Active Lancashire

I love making physical activity part of my everyday life. Running is my favorite way to stay active because it’s accessible, gets me outdoors, and supports both my physical and mental wellbeing. Whether I’m training for a race or simply clearing my mind, running helps me feel focused, energised, and balanced.

Favourite Green or Blue Space

Too many to choose from! We are very lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful spaces in Lancashire. A few of my favorites are Lytham Promenade, Avenham Park and St Annes Beach.

A Project I’m Proud Of

I am proud of the relationships we have built between recovery organisations in North Lancashire. By working together, we can offer a more connected, inclusive, and effective support network for people in recovery
