About Active Cycles
At Active Cycles, we are more than just a bike shop; we are a community movement dedicated to making cycling accessible and affordable for everyone. Our hub in Accrington offers high-quality recycled bikes at low costs, thanks to generous donations from the public and local recycling centres.
Our Impact
- 484 Bikes Recycled: Back out into the community
- 200 Bikes Donated: To schools, groups, and community organisations.
- 1,800 Bikes Saved: Prevented from ending up in landfill.
- 42,120 kg CO2e Saved: Contributing to a greener planet.
Affordable Pricing
- Adult Bikes: from £50
- Children’s Bikes: from £25 (or £15 with a bike exchange)
What to Expect
All our bikes are certified as roadworthy by our qualified mechanics. While the bike frames are second-hand and may show some cosmetic wear, any parts that do not meet our strict standards are replaced with new ones.
Community and Sustainability
By recycling and refurbishing bikes, we are not only providing affordable transportation options but also reducing waste and promoting sustainable living. Our partnerships with local organisations and volunteer programs help us achieve these goals while offering valuable skills and opportunities to the community.
