Find Rossendale recruits
Rossendale Works has access to a large pool of residents in the borough who are currently seeking work, and who may be the perfect match for your vacancies. We have helped over 300 local people into employment and engaged over 56 businesses, some of which also exhibit at our regular local job fairs (pictured above).
About the recruitment service
Local job seekers are referred to our Rossendale Works project by Rawtenstall Job Centre. A dedicated employability officer, who is based at Rossendale Borough Council, assesses the experience of candidates. If required, candidates are provided with free training opportunities and activity sessions to support them with their skills and confidence.
Candidates are then matched to 4-week work placements offered by local businesses.
As the candidates are still receiving benefits, the employer does not pay them a wage during the placement.
However, following the four weeks, the candidate must leave the work placement with either a reference or be offered a paid position that pays the National Living Wage at a minimum.
It is effectively a way for local businesses to trial potential employees.
How your business can get involved
If you want to recruit and have opportunities for work placements with the opportunity for a paid roles at the end, please get in touch. A member of our team will meet with you to discuss and fully understand your placement requirements.
You will then be sent matched profiles for your consideration and you will be able to interview candidates before offering any work placements.
