Thanks to funding from the NHS, the Active Learning Zone is pleased to announce the launch of a brand-new Make Every Contact Count (MECC): Conversation and Skills Workshop, launching this October.
This newly redesigned course builds on the existing MECC offer and has been developed by experts, Proper Active and Sloth Solutions, in response to local needs and health priorities. It provides employers with an opportunity to invest in their workforce, equipping staff and volunteers with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to have meaningful health and wellbeing conversations. By taking part, organisations can play an active role in shaping and sustaining healthier, more informed teams.
The workshop will be delivered online or in person and can be tailored to suit your organisation’s needs. It is open to staff and volunteers across health, social care, community and voluntary sectors, as well as those who regularly interact with the public and want to improve their confidence in discussing health and wellbeing. Alternatively, individuals are also welcome to register independently for a place on the course.
Although participants are expected to have previously completed an Introduction to MECC (or an equivalent) course, the Learning Zone can provide additional free e-learning options ahead of the workshop to ensure all learners meet the eligibility requirements.
The Learning Zone is currently accepting expressions of interest via this form; once complete, a member of staff will be in touch within 7 days to discuss a date and time for the course from October 2026 onwards.
