I’m the Operations Manager (People and Skills) at Active Lancashire and also the workstream lead for the Leadership strand within the Together an Active Future Place Partners programme. In this role, I focus on empowering individuals and organisations through strengths-based skills development, workforce support, and collaborative leadership. It’s all about creating the conditions where people feel confident, capable, and supported to lead within their place.
Why I Do What I Do
I’ve been part of Active Lancashire for nearly 20 years, and I truly can’t imagine working in any other sector. I’m incredibly passionate about personal development and helping others experience the many benefits that come from leading an active lifestyle. Seeing people grow in confidence, ability, and wellbeing through movement and connection is what keeps me inspired every day.
My Favourite Way to Stay Active
I love getting outdoors, whether it’s walking or running in nature, or heading out on a family bike ride with my two children, moving together and making memories. I still enjoy the energy of team sports, having played netball most of my life and watching my beloved Wigan Athletic whenever I get the chance. Most recently, I joined a local CrossFit gym and am now training for my first HYROX competition – wish me luck!
