Volunteer Training Programme

Participants will work towards achieving a Level 1 Open Award in Volunteering, which includes two core sessions: an introduction to volunteering and a session on roles and responsibilities. These sessions explore the reasons people volunteer, the benefits to individuals and communities, and the rights and responsibilities of volunteers. Learners will also begin and complete a qualification workbook as part of the course.

In addition to the core qualification, the programme includes two developmental workshops. The first introduces learners to conflict, helping them understand their own attitudes, the causes of conflict, and practical strategies for resolution. The second workshop focuses on mental health and wellbeing, covering common mental health conditions, available support, and principles for maintaining personal wellbeing and supporting others.

Attendance at all four sessions is required to complete the qualification. This programme is an important part of personal development, and Active Lancashire is committed to supporting volunteers throughout their journey

Level 1 Volunteer Training Program

The Volunteer Training Programme is a four-week course designed to support individuals in developing the skills and confidence needed to become effective volunteers.
